           John Chlarson, MTAS, on behalf of the Chapter
         presented Sharon Rollins with a Certificate of
         Appreciation for her 16 years as Chapter Secretary
         and 37 years of service through MTAS to Public
         Works in Tennessee.
           Mark Miller, Chapter Administator, gave the
         closing remarks and announced the results of
         drawings, raffles and prize giveaways, ensuring that
         many participants left with something memorable
         (while contributing to a good cause.) 
           Wednesday evening, energetic fire dancers
         welcomed conference attendees to the Memphis
         Zoo’s Teton Trek event facility, where a warm
         buffet awaited them, with the opportunity to have
         their caricatures drawn (in amusing cartoon style)
         by a local sketch artist. The event sponsored by

         Rocketmen (if you closed your eyes you’d think the
         real “Sir Elton” was there in the room!)
          Impressive Fundraising and Charitable Spirits
           Throughout the conference, the Public Works
         professionals showed amazing generosity and
         community spirit with the various opportunities
         for charitable giving, raising $2,500 for St. Jude’s
         Children’s Research Hospital. Water for People
         hosted a silent auction and 50/50 Split Give-A-
         Way, raising over $1,000 to help provide safe
         drinking water for people around the world.

         Congratulations to All
           Many thanks to all our sponsors and vendors,
         our hosts, and the entire Conference Committee
         for all their hard work. Also noteworthy for
         their work in registration for the conference
         and the Equipment Rodeo are Kim Strong and
         Bonnie Mumpower Dotson, both with the City of
         Chattanooga. We also send thanks to all the many
         volunteers who helped make this conference run
         smoothly.
