PCUD Converting Their Fleet to CAT to Get the Job Done

Powell-Clinch Utility District has provided superior service to its customers for the last 62 years.
They currently distribute natural gas to six counties through 816 miles of main lines and to capitalize
Mountain Road. With 64 employees and four construction crews, PCUD has continued to grow
through their 62 years of service by extending their pipeline an average of 16 miles per year. Neil
Viles, Construction Manager for 41 years, has ensured the efficiency of his team and contributed Permit No. 592 Pontiac, IL PAID US Postage PRSRT STD
greatly to this growth. They recently provided service to the Mountain Road area in Anderson
County, as well as the Cove Norris area of Campbell County.

As PCUD continues to grow, they have decided to convert their fleet over to CAT in order to get the
job done. Matt Paul, Pipeline Maintenance Manager for PCUD for the past 23 years, spoke very highly
of his local Caterpillar Dealer. When asked about the support of Caterpillar, Paul stated, “Support is
excellent. Anything we need, the Caterpillar Dealer service and sales teams hop right on it to help.”
He continued to state that the primary reason for swapping to Cat was “mainly for the service and
support after the sale.” Paul concludes by stating that, “Having the great total machine warranty
allows us to keep our machines longer, comfortably and still get a great resale value moving into our
       upgrades.”
The Powell-Clinch Utility District’s fleet consists of a Cat 289, a Cat 308, and two Cat 305s. PCUD
plans to add more Caterpillar equipment to their fleet as the years go on and as they continue
to provide superior sales, service, installation, construction, and infrastructure to their many
       customers.
