                                                                  Machines

Raymond Hillis, Executive Director of Public Works, is responsible for street maintenance, solid
waste pickup, and more in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Having served in public works for over thirty
years, Hillis knows how important it is to have reliable equipment on a job sight. “Cat has been
around for a long time, so it has a good track record of making strong, dependable machines,” says Permit No. 592 Pontiac, IL PAID US Postage
Hillis. With several different Cat machines in their fleet, his men have been able to see that strength PRSRT STD
and dependability in action. Whether it’s work on storm drains or work doing road repairs, their
Cat machines have always held up. Even now, Hillis says that they have been able to use their Cat
equipment in the development of a new skate park for the community in Murfreesboro.

Even more significant than the strength and dependability of Cat machines, according to Hillis, is the
ease of access to service after they’ve bought equipment. “The most impressive thing about Cat that
makes it stand out against its competitors is the service after the sale.” Thompson representatives
have been quick to help anyone in the Public Works Department in Murfreesboro, from answering
questions about tracking purchased equipment parts to helping with repairs in the shop. “They are
always able to offer us help, or if they can’t help themselves, they are able to put us into contact with
the right person to get any issue taken care of.”

Raymond Hillis has been working with his local Cat dealer for more than ten years, and he will continue
to work with Cat because of the confidence he has in the service. Of his local Cat dealer, he says that
“Cat creates confidence in us too, knowing that they are going to fix a machine for us even if they have
to build it themselves in the shop. That’s been huge for us.”
