“The help we get

                                                                     makes a huge

                                                                         difference.”

The average person produces about five pounds of trash per day. Multiply that by the 100,000+ people
who live in Madison County, add the hundreds of pounds of trash produced commercially in the area,
and the Madison County Development Landfill has its hands full every single day.
Waste management is not the kind of work that slows down or waits for a convenient time to be taken
care of, and no one knows that better than Madison County Development. “We take roughly twelve to Permit No. 592 Pontiac, IL PAID US Postage PRSRT STD
fifteen hundred tons of trash a day, sometimes more. From household trash to commercial trash, we
have about 300 trucks come by a day to drop off their waste – and we take care of it all,” says Seth
Lindsey, a mechanic with Madison County Development. “The work is constant every day, and our
      machines take a beating.”
Cutting downtime is integral to keeping such a large operation going, and the landfill has found that
their Cat equipment handles the hard work of waste management best. Lindsey notes that their Cat
equipment works harder for longer, citing their D6T Dozer that has over 27,000 hours on it.
“The main reason we buy Cat equipment, though, is the service aspect,” says Lindsey. “The help we
get on the service and parts side makes a huge difference.” He goes on to praise his Equipment Sales
Representative, Slayton Day, and his Parts and Service Sales Representative, Stan Doyle, for their
support. “Every time I call, they answer the phone. No matter what we need, they are able to help us
out in little to no time so we can stay on track.”
From providing a small part to keep a machine going to helping the landfill through a complete machine
rebuild, Madison County Development has trusted their local Cat Dealer to keep them running as they
support their community’s waste management needs.
