         Music” Ryman Auditorium.

Nashville, host of this fall’s November 13-15 TCAPWA/SWANA
Annual Conference, offers a highly diverse variety of things to see,
do and eat, whether you’re attending our meeting solo, or bringing
         the family.
If your idea of a quiet afternoon includes visiting a variety of
museums offering everything from folk art, to country music
history, to state artifacts, this is your kind of town.
Or, if you prefer a fast-paced, rollicking ride of rowdy music,
rooftop bars, entertainment venues, and downhome dining, this
ALSO is your kind of town.
One thing’s for sure: Nashville’s marked by a certain authenticity,
friendliness and charm that personifies southern hospitality. And
our Doubletree Downtown Nashville Hotel, conveniently located
at 315 4th Ave. North, puts our attendees in the middle of it all.
From the hotel, you can stroll a few blocks over to the scenic
Cumberland River. Look across the river to the opposite shore
and you’ll see the imposing Nissan Stadium, home of the
Tennessee Titans (the site of our annual Equipment Rodeo and
accompanying lunch on Tuesday, Nov. 14). And speaking of
stadiums, don’t forget that one of our free conference tours is on
Monday, Nov. 13 to see the brand-new stadium in Geodis Park,
home of the Nashville Soccer Club.
You can walk the opposite way from the hotel into the heart of
the city to visit sites such as the renowned Ryman Auditorium
“Mother Church of Country Music,” the GRAMMY Gallery inside
the Musician’s Hall of Fame and Museum, the Tennessee State
Museum, the Country Music Hall of Fame which houses Hatch
Show Print, or the Parthenon in Centennial Park on West End
Avenue, the world’s only full-scale replica of the Parthenon in
         Greece
Hungry? Legendary restaurants dot the various streets inside
and on the outskirts of downtown, many within walking distance
of our hotel, including Puckett’s Grocery, Black Rabbit, and even
BB King’s Blues Club. If you’re into the taste of slow-cooked
barbeque, then restaurants like Rippy’s Honky Tonk, Pinewood
Social or Chief’s on Broadway has you covered.
Want to try that Nashville famous Hot Chicken? Hattie B’s Hot
Chicken, Party Fowl or any of the Prince’s Hot Chicken joints
(Food Truck, Assembly Food Hall, or Shack South) can dish you
up with fowl to set your mouth on fire.
Nashville is legendary for its downtown rooftop bars. If you
want to go upscale up on the roof, try Riviere at Four Seasons
Nashville, Lou/Na at the Grand Hyatt, PROOF at W Nashville or
Rare Bird at the Noelle Hotel. These establishments offer lavish
views with the accompaniment of a well-crafted cocktail.
Many of us immediately think “music” when we think of
Nashville, which certainly offers a mix of country, bluegrass,
rock, pop, Americana, gospel, classical, and blues. You can catch
