Holston Electric Cooperative’s mission is to provide PRSRT STD
safe, dependable electric service to their member- US Postage
owners at a reasonable cost. This member-owned
distributor of TVA power serves portions of Hawkins and PAID
Hamblen counties: including Mooresburg, Church Hill, Pontiac, IL
Surgoinsville, Rogersville, Bulls Gap, Whitesburg, and Permit No. 592
Russellville. Currently, Holston Electric has 3 branches
and 12 substations that distribute power to approximately
30,000 member-owners.
In order to exceed members’ expectations, Holston Electric’s subsidiary Holston Connect, began
construction in 2018 to create advanced fiber-services. These services include: high-speed internet,
video, and voice to all members within the service territory. Holston Electric is installing a Smart
Grid infrastructure, including AMI meters and other components. This addition will increase service
reliability, decrease outage and response times, as well as improve notifications and communications.
In addition, this will also assist members with their electrical needs as the region continues to flourish.
Currently, Holston Electric Cooperative has in their fleet: a CAT 299D2, 302.5C, trencher, A19 auger,
power box rake, and a C18, 800kW Generator to perform daily needs. Holston Electric Cooperative
