environmental and conservation awards in the state. Marking their 33rd year, the awards have
been presented to city and county governments, individuals, organizations, and educational
institutions making significant contributions to the protection and improvement of natural
resources and wildlife. The awards are designed to bring about a greater knowledge and
awareness of effective practices and projects and to give proper recognition to those persons and
organizations that make outstanding contributions to the natural resources of their community
and the state.

Nominations are currently being accepted for the awards which include ten categories:

Outreach, Environmental Education and Outreach (school category), Land Use, Materials
Management, Natural Heritage, Sustainable Performance, and Lifetime Achievement (professional and volunteer).
