Truck-Loving Little Boy Visits City

Just wanted to share a couple of photos
of a little boy who has become one of our
biggest fans at City of Columbia Public
Works.
Lucas Childs, age 4, came to see us for
his 4th birthday a couple of months ago,
along with his Mom and Dad (Julie and
Arron). We gave him a brief tour of our
truck area, and to say this little boy knows
trucks is an understatement! He was able
to tell me what the different trucks were
and how they operated.
His mom contacted me via email
the week before Thanksgiving to ask if
Lucas could come see us and bring some
cookies. Since we all love food, my answer
was immediately “yes!”
Lucas received a grand tour of our
facilities, met some of our drivers, looked
at all the trucks and gave me a HUGE hug
before he left. We are already planning his
future with our department and excitedly
await his next visit.
We love seeing the children in our
community and sharing with them.
