         “Snout & About” - A Howling Success

           The City of Germantown’s Engineering
         Department recently adopted a unique
approach to getting pets adopted…and a
dog-gone cure for “ruff days” at work.
           Germantown’s Animal Shelter, which is
part of its Public Works Department, held
a “Snout & About” program this winter,
where city departments “checked out” a
shelter dog for the day to give them social
time (and a well-deserved break from the
         shelter.)
           The engineering group hosted Jimmy,
a lovable terrier mix who spent the day
exploring City Hall, meeting new friends
(both two- and four-legged), and even cats, ensuring they have a comfortable stay
squeezing in a quick nap before heading until they find their “fur-ever” families.

sitively” glowing reviews about his visit, social capabilities, also providing online
saying he was “the perfect office guest and “adoption profiles” on each canine (felines

all about making sure every paw finds its a kind-hearted Germantown resident…a
perfect match and a new “leash” on life. lucky dog indeed.) Let’s give a round of
The shelter can host up to 15 dogs and 25 “aplaws” for this howling good program!
