That’s Why I Buy Cat.”
The Lincoln County Highway Department maintains all county roads and bridges,
and takes care of drainage issues, in a south-central Tennessee County that
covers 570 square miles and includes 850 miles of road. Highway Superintendent
Tim Gill reports that a wide range of Cat machines – including multiple motor
®
graders, wheel loaders, and backhoe loaders, as well as paving machines – are
part of the Department’s extensive fleet.

“With Cat machines, you get what you pay for,” Gill states. “I buy Cat because of Lincoln County
its durability, parts availability, and the support I get from my local Cat dealer.” Highway Department

The Department’s newest Cat machines are a 972M Wheel Loader and a CW16
9-wheel pneumatic roller, both bought to replace aging machines. “A rubber-tracked roller is an
important machine for rural counties like ours,” Gill says, adding, “We bought these machines
utilizing the state contract, which made for a smooth process.”
