TCAPWA EVENTS AND HIGHLIGHTS
West TN Branch Q2 Lunch & Learn By Director Jonathan Whitfield
The West Tennessee Branch of
TCAPWA held its Q2 Lunch and Learn
at The Venue in Bartlett, thanks to the
generous support and coordination
of the City of Bartlett Public Works
Department.
A total of 27 attendees gathered for
the event, which featured a mix of
networking, professional development,
and hands-on learning. Attendees were
treated to lunch provided by Eddie
Yaun with Stringfellow, LLC, who also
organized an impressive equipment
showcase in collaboration with Rob
Myers of Stepp Manufacturing. The
showcase displayed three asphalt hot
boxes, giving attendees a firsthand look
at some of the latest innovations in road
maintenance equipment.
The session began with introductions
from everyone in attendance, followed
by remarks from West Branch Director
Jonathan Whitfield, President-Elect
Ethan Skaggs, and Past President Manny
Belen. Each emphasized the ongoing
importance of TCAPWA’s mission
to connect and support public works
professionals across the region.
The keynote speaker, Brandon
Carpenter from the City of Memphis
Office of Emergency Management,
gave an insightful presentation on
the vital relationship between Public
Works and emergency management.
His talk highlighted how interagency
coordination is essential for effective
disaster response and community
resilience.
Adding to the excitement, Stringfellow
donated four gift cards for door prizes,
which is always a crowd favorite.
Winners hailed from BHS Concrete, the
City of Bartlett, the City of Lakeland, and
the City of Germantown.
The event was a great opportunity for
networking, learning, and celebrating the
work of Public Works professionals in
West Tennessee.
